Living In Uncertainty

Let’s be honest.  Most of us enjoy knowing where are headed tomorrow, where our next check is coming from, whether or not we can see family or plan trips.  Unfortunately, that it not a luxury that most of us have right now.

Living in uncertainty is hard.  I would say that most of the fights, arguments, and issues that we have been facing in the last months have been because we don’t know how to deal with not knowing.  Thinking you know what will happen is like thinking you have a sense of control over a situation. All we can do is wait for a job to come, or wait for and unemployment approval, or wait for something.  We are all waiting for a sense of normalcy.

How do we get through it?

Everyone is different.  I chose to realize that certainty is an illusion.  We think we know what will happen but we don’t.  We can get fired at any time, laid off, we can wake up tomorrow without what we had today.  The difference in this situation is we happen to be going through a stressful time with the rest of the entire world.

I chose to stay prayed up.  I also chose to be grateful.  In each moment where I am able to eat, or able to make money, or have a roof over my head I choose to be thankful for this moment right now.

For my Bible readers

“6 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Messiah Yeshua.” -Philippians 4:6-7 (WMB)

Pray about it and leave it be.  Faith is an action.  The action of faith is doing all you can and once you have done that give it to The Most High God.  When you know you have done all that you can do (applied for help, applied for jobs, used your resources) Yah (God) will come through.

You know how I get down… from the Quran

“The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters” [Quran 3:60]

Doubters will have you keeping your eyes off of faith. Doubters will have you forgetting what is true.  Remember what I said. In this moment are you hungry? Are your bills paid? Are you afraid?  Truth is The Most High is keeping you so never forgets those things that are true.  Don’t let the future make you forget that you are blessed right now.

If you’re Hindu…

“When there is harmony between the mind, heart, and resolution then nothing is impossible.-Rig Veda

I think it’s safe to say that whatever you believe in trusting God and being calm is a must.  It’s not easy, but try to remember all of the things that you have been through in the past that you have made it through.  Think about all of the triumphs that you have made when you didn’t know how you would get through it when you did.

Pray for others as you pray for yourself.  Pray for the world.  Pray for peace.  Religion is a touchy subject.  I love theology, but I also love to mind my business.  What is for one is not for all, but I want to share a video with you that encourage me whenever I watch it.  It isn’t representative of any one religion, and I think that anyone can find truth and enlightenment from it.
