Works Are Faith Brought To Life

I was praying and praying and nothing was happening. I’m not the type of person that is always praying for material things, but this particular time I was. I watched this video (which I love) and something hit me. I remembered this passage…

James 2:14-26
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

Not into the Bible? Let’s try another…

“And those who believed and did good works…they are the inhabitants of the Garden (of Paradise), abiding therein eternally.” (Quran 7:42)

“Those who believe and do good works, their Lord guides them by their faith. Rivers will flow beneath them in the Gardens of Delight.” (Quran 10:9)

“Upon those who believed and did good works shall The Most Gracious bestow Love.” (Quran 19:96)

I’m sure I could go on…

I got to thinking to myself… stepping out on faith is just going ahead and putting plans into motion. Maybe that vision board didn’t work out because even though you looked at it every day, you didn’t make a plan to move toward your goals.

Visualization is important. Visualization is apart of manifesting. In my observation visualization becomes real when you have put in the physical action.

I use to have a job I HATED. I would picture where I wanted to be going instead every day on the way to work. It was the only thing that would give me the motivation to get out of bed. I wanted to work in HR at a Casino. I imagined the people, what it looked like, everything. I figured it was far off because I wasn’t even done with school yet, but dreaming was all I had.

I ended up leaving that job and looking for another. I started applying to anything. I even started applying to the same jobs twice. When I needed jobs before this my grandmother told me to think of where I wanted it to be, how much money I wanted to make, every detail. I imagined not paying for parking, eating lunch for free, and working a day shift. I was asking for a lot, but I figure I might as well hope. Where is the harm in hope?

After a month of frustration I applied for a temp agency as a home health aide. I had given up on dreaming. I had rent. A lady called me from the temp agency that I applied to and asked me if I wanted a job in the casino in HR. I couldn’t believe it! Did I dream myself here?

I was terrified, but I interviewed. They took so long to get back I figured it was a no. I was wrong. The recruiter called me and told me that I was chosen. Before she hung up she said “Don’t worry about parking. They have their own structure, and don’t worry about lunch. All of their employees eat for free.

I immediately called my very Catholic grandmother to tell her. My grandmother didn’t know it was called The Law of Attraction, but she showed me something that changed my life. I couldn’t believe I had this dream come to life and not even on purpose.

It’s years later I still can’t hardly believe it. I’m not even sure why I applied for a home health aide job knowing I’m not qualified. The point was I was letting The Universe know that I was willing to put forth the effort to be successful no matter what it took. My vibration was in alignment with the opportunity. The rest was God.

When I moved to Atlanta I just booked a flight. I didn’t have an interview at any job. After I booked the flight I changed my cover letter to say I will be here on these days and would like to interview. I moved and made plans as If I was coming. I booked that flight like I had a job interview, and interviews came my way. I had 3 by the time I came to town.

In the same way, just move! If it’s on your heart to have the faith to move do it! I remember once saying to The Most High I can’t afford so and so but you know what… I’m getting it cause I need it. I went to get it and I got an unexpected Venmo notification saying that I had money. The message attached said “just because.”

This may not always be your story or your case. This isn’t always my case, but we have to keep in our minds that faith is not just asking. Doing and knowing are also parts of faith. It’s a universal law. When you have faith you aren’t obsessing, you aren’t paranoid, you have done all you can. Then Yah, The Universe, The Most High, God whatever you like to say is going to handle the rest.

Let your faith been seen in your actions. Let your faith been seen in how willing you are to trust AND try.

If faith without works is dead, faith with works is alive!

The moral of the story is to pray and have faith, but don’t forget to put away fear and bring forward your best effort to try
